Odd Faceted & Textured Column Earrings

Odd sterling silver post earrings - one is hammer faceted and one is reticulated and antiqued for an edgy daily driver. The ends are faceted, reminiscent of an crystalline structure.

Square wire is cut and the edges ground down at an angle to facet. Texture is applied to the hammered earring and once the post is soldered on,  filed down with varying grades of emery paper and polished to achieve a high shine that catches the light. 

The second earring is heated to a high temperature until the silver begins to reticulate and then immediately quenched. Once cleaned up,  it is patina-ed and polished to leave the patina in the reticulated recesses.
